Summary
- Bone biopsies are necessary because many current bone imaging techniques, although sensitive, lack specificity.
- Percutaneous image-guided biopsy is an accurate, safe, low cost, speedy and effective way of obtaining specimens for diagnosis from bony lesions.
- The technique is an invaluable asset in the armamentarium of the radiologist.
