Ultrasound is an effective technique for assessing all superficial
tendons.
MRI is rarely required if ultrasound is used as a
first line
investigation.
Complete rupture of tendons can
be diagnosed with confidence.
Differentiating focal tendinosis
from partial tears may not
be possible.
