Imaging, and its predecessor Current Imaging, has been in circulation for 15 years and has been published by the British Institute of Radiology since 1999. Over this period the journal has provided the reader with high quality review articles covering a wide range of topics. Following a recent review, the Editorial Board concluded that the journal should have a more structured format covering the entire breadth of radiology. Individual issues will be dedicated to a particular topic conforming to the new UK modular structured training. The aim of the articles will be to provide the reader with an in-depth practical account of the various techniques for specific clinical problems, rather than a list of differential diagnoses for a radiological appearance. There will be one or two dedicated issues for each of the following major subjects: chest/cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, gastrointestinal, hepatobilary, genitourinary, paediatrics, neuroradiology/head and neck, oncology and breast. In 34 years the cycle will be repeated, with the inclusion of new updated material. Each issue will be rounded off with a picture quiz based on the articles, as well as multiple-choice questions that attract CME accreditation.
We hope that this and subsequent issues provide the reader with a valuable up-to-date guide to modern-day imaging.
