Figure 7. Carpometacarpal fracture-dislocation. (a) There is loss of the normal carpometacarpal alignment on the plain radiograph with bony fragmentation at the trapezoid–capitate joint. CT clearly demonstrates the full extent of the injury with the splitting of the hamate (b) and diastasis of the trapezoid-capitate joint (c). Multiplanar reconstructions (not shown) confirmed dislocation of the ring and little fingers.
