Imaging the female: gynaecological malignancy
J McHugo
Head of Diagnostic Imaging Birmingham Women's Hospital Birmingham
Gynaecological malignancies are of increasing importance to all Radiologists, not only due to the changing demographics of our population but also the diverse presenting symptoms. The NHS target of 2 week cancer wait and the soon to be introduced 18 week target will be challenging to diagnostic imaging departments. This edition is written by experts actively involved in the provision of gynaecology services and should provide a timely review in this area.
The aim is to provide a comprehensive overview of current practice for the imaging of gynaecological malignancies.
All authors were tasked to provide not only a review of current evidence to support practice, but as important, a practical approach to the diagnosis and staging of gynaecological malignancy.
This issue therefore should be of benefit to both those already experienced in imaging of the female pelvis, but also those less experienced and indeed those in training.
